USS Curtiss (AV-4) was an auxiliary seaplane tender of the United States Navy. She was named after Glenn Hammond Curtiss, the American aviation pioneer.
Curtiss was commissioned in 1940 and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, where she supported the operations of fleet and patrol aircraft. She participated in the Battle of Midway and the Guadalcanal Campaign, among other engagements.
After the war, Curtiss continued to serve in various roles, including as a training ship and as a support vessel for nuclear testing. She was finally decommissioned in 1964 and sold for scrap in 1968.
During her career, Curtiss earned several medals and commendations, including the Navy Unit Commendation and the American Campaign Medal.
